The purpose of this blog is to explore the worldview, customs, beliefs, values and religion of the ancient Nahua people as well as analyze different concepts of central importance for these subjects, with the end goal of making them applicable to the present and get a tradition that while having firm roots in the past can be practiced today.
With the object of getting this, we will work based on a reconstructionist methodology: examining the available records, making use of history, archaeological approaches, linguistics, comparative studies and the folklore alongside other tools.
Taking a reconstructionist approach does not mean that unverified personal gnosis (UPG) is not accepted as this can help to modernize and adapt as well as innovate and develop contemporary practises supported by a traditionalist understanding, avoiding a spiritual stagnation.
Additionally, this space will serve to expose my thoughts, journey, and my personal (ever-evolving) praxis of my hearth with commentaries of these practices, what they mean, among other things.
We hope that this site can become an introduction to some aspects Nahua Polytheism and inspire others to explore this path, and eventually develop their own hearth-practices.
